Most of you know I'm
mostly into sound, music and movies. But I also collect
images which I use for my computer desktop (or wallpaper).
They're collected from all over the place. Some have been
modified to my liking, but hopefully keeping to the intent
of the artist. Usually just adjusting over all levels so
that the darkest is fully black and the lightest is fully
white. Of course you can't sell these your self. And if you
own the images and don't want them shown here I'll pull
them.
This
is my favorite stuff!
The National Gallery of Art at www.nga.gov
is my favorite site for desktop images. Except for one
thing, their photos of the paintings are not at a very high
resolution. They do have closeups of different sections
which I'll sometimes paste over the low res version. This
becomes my personal art lesson. You can see this in the
large images where some parts of a painting are sharp and
other parts are fuzzy.

Excelent photography with high resolution images. Since I
don't make any modifications to the photos... well, at least
none that I think the photographers would approve, just go
directly to their site. They also have extensive reviews of
equipment and have numerous photo contests.
